Just as seasons change, so do the hearts of men and women. It’s through these seasons that God works in the hearts of unbelievers. First, it is the hearing of God’s message through His people, as seeds are planted. Then comes growth. Sometimes this growth comes quickly, and a heart is changed immediately. However, sometimes it takes seasons of growth.
In the story below, what began with the fruits of one SGA-supported Summer Camp in Belarus led to a winter repentance, and was celebrated with a personal baptism one year later. Just as there are many seasons for an unbeliever, there are also many seasons for the believer. As we go through life, there will be times of cold and bitterness in our hearts, but there will also be other times of great joy and warmth in our hearts. Through it all, may we continue to grow in our faith and find peace in the One who shines His light in our hearts.
Please pray for Bogdana and her son Roman as they continue to grow in their faith through the seasons of their lives. Here is Bogdana’s testimony . . .
Last year, a camp for local children was held, and one of the campers, a boy named Roman, who was 12 back then, was very impressed by the attitude towards the children, and by the truths that he learned during the camp. The boy grew up without a father and it was not surprising that he lacked attention and love that our brothers and sisters showed to the kids during the camp.
As it turned out later, his mother Bogdana, knew about the local church and even once attended it, but due to some life circumstances stopped going to the church. However, through her son, God gave her a second chance. After the camp last year, Roman asked his mother to go to the church with him. The woman began to occasionally attend the church gatherings while her son was at Sunday school. Bogdana’s attendance became more frequent, and in the winter, she believed and repented, and since then has attended the services regularly. She was helping in the Summer Camp this year and made a decision to be baptized by faith. On Sunday, after the camp this summer, she received baptism in faith and made a covenant with the Lord, having joined the local church. All glory be to God!
