Through our Winter Heat & Hope project, the gifts of friends like you help us purchase and ship generators to SGA-supported churches in Ukraine. Your generosity also helps churches to distribute cold-weather supplies to hurting families in their communities—including blankets, coal, and other much-needed essentials in times of crisis.
Aschurches become Centers of Heat & Hope, they care for men, women, and children who need protection from the bitter elements. And each encounter is an opportunity to share the Gospel during the coldest time of year with hurting people who are desperate for hope.
A grateful Ukrainian family wanted you to know how much they appreciate this outpouring of Christ’s love and emergency relief. They write . . .
Our village is located near a reservoir. Often there is shelling, explosions are constantly heard, which causes a constant feeling of anxiety and danger. The war has greatly affected our lives: children do not attend school because it is not safe, and we, adults, are constantly in tension, trying to ensure the safety and survival of the family.
Our family consists of dad and mom and three children 7, 10, and 16 years old. We live in a stove-heated house, which requires a significant amount of firewood for the winter. However, due to unstable work, we often lack funds even for basic needs, let alone buying fuel. There is no permanent work. And the one we do have brings in a very small income, which is not enough to provide for the family. Despite this, we try to hold on and believe that God does not abandon us. The church has become a real salvation and comfort for us in the midst of hectic, hard everyday life.
Now we are sincerely grateful for your help in buying firewood to you friends from the distant USA. This will not only ease our living conditions, but also give us the opportunity to survive the winter with warmth and hope. Thank you for your support and participation in our lives. May God bless you for your kind heart and desire to help those in need.
