How wonderful it is to see the Church being the Church as God intended in Ukraine today! Our brothers and sisters are sharing the Gospel through word and deed. They are sharing the food packages and other aid that caring believers like you are helping to provide through your generosity. And they are making the most of every opportunity to encourage hurting men, women, and children to follow Jesus.
While we pray for the war to end, we continue to be encouraged by seeing more hurting hearts drawn to the Lord and growing in the faith. May you, too, be encouraged as you read these two testimonies shared by an SGA Storyteller and praise God for His life-changing work . . .
My name is Anatoliy. I was born in 1987. I lived and worked in the town of Dniprorudne as a miner. Because of the war, I had to leave the city. Since it was captured by the [invaders], I did not want to work for them. I fled to [another] region. Here I was welcomed by [a local church]. I started attending worship services. I got a job. Later I was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In May 2024, I was seriously wounded by a landmine. I am currently undergoing treatment in [another city]. I thank God for saving my life. He blessed the hands of doctors at the beginning and now, through these circumstances I have become closer to God. He has also changed my personal attitude to the Church. I started praying, going to worship services, and found new friends. Thank you for the food package. I am very grateful that God took care of me here as well. May the Lord bless your work, your ministry, and may He be glorified in everything!
My name is Kateryna. I was born in 1989. I lived with my husband Vasyl, born in 1988, and my son Michael, born in 2021, in the city of Dniprorudne.
On February 24, 2022, the war broke out. My husband was immediately drafted into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He went to war the same day. My son and I left the city almost immediately, as soon as it was occupied by the [invaders]. God guided us from the very beginning to the end of our journey out of the occupation. A Christian volunteer took us out. We arrived in [this city]. Here we were welcomed by the [local church].
In the beginning, we lived at the church, and then we had the opportunity to rent an apartment.
God took care of us so wonderfully and gave us everything we needed. Because of these circumstances, I became even closer to God and began to trust Him more. Every day I thank God that He protects my husband and does not leave me and our son. We thank God for a wonderful church, for believers who show God’s love for our family every day. We thank Him for everything! Thank you for the food package. It is very nice that God has always cared about us and continues to care about us.
