Pastor Mikhail recently shared an encouraging ministry report and wants you to know how the SGA-provided food packages—made possible through the generosity of friends like you—are meeting very real and urgent physical needs.
When his congregation distributes the aid, they also provide eye treatment for those who cannot see well. “We do our ministry among those who have bad eyesight,” he says. “We bring them products, share the Gospel, and provide eye treatment.”
Pray with us and with Mikhail that the eyes of their hearts will be opened so that they may see the light of the Gospel and the hope we have in Jesus Christ. Read more from Mikhail and rejoice to see how God is adding to His Kingdom as He grows this church and provides for a new building for worship
Dear friends in Christ!
Sincere greetings from the church.
Thanks be to God, the ministry of our church continues. Thank you, friends, for your prayers and food aid! We do our ministry among those who have bad eyesight. We bring them products, share the Gospel of Jesus, and provide eye treatment. About 200 people come to our meetings every time.
The Lord also allowed us to start building a House of Prayer in June in one of the villages in [this] region. There is a small group of people here—believers and those who are close to Christ—whom our church cares for. Here are photos of the beginning of the construction of the House of Prayer.
In July we had a baptism. Eight people were baptized. Six of them were IDPs [internally displaced persons] who attended Bible study groups. One of the sisters who was baptized came with a fever. Her husband is not yet saved, but they attend church services and small groups together. He was with her when she was baptized. I told her, “Let’s just delay the baptism for the next time.” She replied: “No way, because even football games are held in any weather!” Her husband also supported her.
During the ceremonial service after the baptism, we, together with our ministering brothers, prayed with the new members of the church. Each of the baptized sisters prayed briefly. One of the sisters said: “God, I grew up without a father, but You have become my Father.”
Also during this service, the daughter of one of the baptized sisters repented. Both mother and daughter were refugees. The mother was a “student” of the first group of refugees studying the course “Fundamentals of Faith”, and the daughter is a student of the tenth group. Praise be to God!
Here is a photo from the baptism.
Also, we continue to study the course “Fundamentals of Faith” with refugees. More than 200 people have already completed the course, and more than 300 are still studying. Praise God!
Here is a photo of several groups of our graduates together.
Blessings!
Mikhail, pastor of the church
