In the story below, you will read how Igor felt compelled to instantly throw a cigarette out of his mouth as he felt God working on his heart through the words of a “man of God.”  “Sometimes God says, ‘Come and dock this chariot.’” Not sometime later on, but now. 

Now, Igor is talking and praying with Pastor Dmitri, and taking his first steps toward the Lord. Please pray for he and his wife, and that “they would know God’s love and serve Him with pure hearts together.” We are thankful for the continued faithfulness of “meetings” like this between pastors and those needing to hear God’s Truth.

The Lord gave us a wonderful meeting with a wonderful family. Igor is the head of the family with three children. He grew up in a Christian family, but as an adult he left home. He left, married and forgot the precepts of his family and friends. He lived according to the custom of the world, by the will of the devil. He encountered many problems and worries, sometimes remembering the years of his youth, how good it was to live with faithful parents and friends, especially with the Lord. And then came that amazing moment when one day at the train station a man of God came up to him and said a few words about God’s love!

Sometimes it takes months and years for a person to make a decision, repent, and commit his life to Jesus Christ. Sometimes God says, “Come and dock this chariot.” And oh, the miracle of God! So it was with Igor, he needed to hear: “Give up that cigarette! God loves you!” In the same instant he threw the cigarette out of his mouth and crumpled up the whole packet throwing it in the trash. He realized that it wasn’t a man speaking to him, but God Himself speaking through the passerby. Igor’s face lit up knowing that the Lord had not rejected him, even though he himself had abandoned Him many years ago.

Today Igor is taking his first steps toward the Lord. We talk, pray, invite him home and to church. Igor’s wife Natasha is very surprised at such a change in her husband’s life. She has a hard time understanding all of this, but we pray, communicate, make friends, that the Lord will give her a spiritual revival, and they will know God’s love and serve Him with pure hearts together with their children as a family.
