Editor’s Note: An SGA-supported pastor in a former Soviet nation provides the following testimony.

If we will only be faithful to God’s Word and be still, listening to how He is speaking and leading us, doors will be opened to His plan for our lives. The Word of God is our guide. It gives us all that we need in order to follow hard after the plans of God. It gives us strength and courage. It gives us comfort and peace. But most of all, it gives us the truth we need to live out our faith in this broken world.

I’ve never heard so many biblical truths in just a few days. I never approached the Word of God with such thoroughness and accuracy.” Those who have the great honor and privilege to study at an SGA-supported seminary are experiencing the depths of God’s Word with the hopes of teaching it to others. They are thankful for the fullness of His Word and how it impacts our hearts for daily living and future plans.

Please pray for the many students who studying this school year in these faithful seminaries and Antioch Initiative (AI) locations. The spiritual hunger—people coming to Christ—is exploding, and there are not sufficient funds for all the leaders we could train. It’s our God-given opportunity, and we are grateful for the generous gifts of friends like you help provide for this training. You’re helping to change not only students’ lives, but the lives of every person they will influence.

After a two-year break, with the help of SGA, we started the Antioch Initiative course in Yakutsk again, in December 2023. We are so much blessed by these classes because they help our church leaders and ministers get a deeper understanding of God and therefore serve Him better and with more dedication. This time we have young and active church ministers studying at the AI course. And this is the first time that we have two brothers who were so much impressed by the classes that they made a firm decision to go to a Novosibirsk Biblical Theological Seminary (NBTS)—one of the best biblical schools in Russia supported by SGA. It’s not easy for either of them, but at the AI classes they realized how much they lack biblical training and it made them come to such decision.

Alexei is one these students. He is a Sunday school director and a youth leader. He was an AI student for a year. He was also a student of the Bible school at Yakutsk Central Baptist Church, led by Yegori, the SGA-supported missionary pastor of the church. It was hard for him to make a decision to go study at the seminary. He had to quit his job having three small kids and go 1,700 miles away from his hometown to the closest seminary in Novosibirsk. Now he’s a full-time student of NBTS.

Here’s Alexei’s testimony:

I became a Christian as a teenager, and since I turned 20 years old.  I always had a dream to get a Christian education, study at seminary, and be a preacher. But at that time a didn’t know much about any Christian training, so I graduated from a secular university and then started to work. Then I attended several classes of the Antioch Initiative and Bible School at Yakutsk Church. I also talked to a couple of brothers who studied at NBTS.

I was so much inspired by the classes, and by what I heard from the brothers, that I started to pray for God’s will and asked Him to grant me such a blessing to study at NBTS. The Lord gave me courage and confidence in my decision to go to Novosibirsk this summer, and I finally entered the seminary. God provided almost everything I need for my living and studies there. I want to praise and thank Lord Jesus for His guidance and help!
