Editor’s Note: The president of an SGA-supported seminary in Ukraine provides the following report.

Early in the ongoing war in Ukraine, Irpen Biblical Seminary was struck with approximately 50 mortar shells. Fire spread through the campus. Despite major damage to all of the SGA-supported seminary’s five buildings, by God’s grace, the ground-level worship center, library, and dining halls were relatively unharmed. And that was just a beginning glimpse of God’s sovereign plans.

Yet even after many fled this war-torn country, and as fighting continues today, Irpen Biblical Seminary continues rebuilding and investing in future pastors. From the ashes this vital school is rising again! See how in this recent video showing the seminary president, Mykola, teaching a course.

Here is a brief accompanying report from Mykola . . .

The third session of the Pastoral Leadership certificate track was held over the weekend. The Practical Ecclesiology course was taught by pastors Oleksandr and Mykola. The New Testament teaching about the church and its mission has a very practical application—this, as well as the structure of the local church and the effective work of fraternal and pastoral councils, church membership, and discipline were studied and discussed by student pastors with teaching pastors. In the evening, the students visited the Irpen Bible Church, where they got acquainted with its structure, ministries, and ministers.

In a time of great uncertainty, God is bringing help, healing, and hope to the people of Ukraine through SGA-supported pastors, churches, a seminary, and SGA-supported Compassion Ministry. Be a part of God’s incredible work with your generosity and prayer support.
