We may not ever understand the plans and purposes that God has for us while here on Earth, but we can trust that whatever they may be, it will be with the good intention to be used of Him. Some of us will go through difficult hardships, and yet be a huge blessing to others as they walk the same road. Some of us will share a testimony that reaches to the depths of someone with a drug or alcohol addiction. Some of us will live without great trials, but as a faithful example of God’s steadfastness. And others, as in the story below, will come to faith through hearing and believing the Word of God, and then turn around with great desire to share that same truth with others.
No matter where God places us or with what circumstances, the plan is always to glorify His name. Please pray for Natasha and the elderly men and women to whom she ministers. Please pray that they will also repent and believe in the Truth they are hearing about.
“My name is Natasha. I was born into a Jewish non-believing family… But always in difficult situations I knew that people cannot just be born and then die, and that death is the end. These thoughts were scary, and I prayed to God without knowing Him yet… At 18, I got married. My husband and I lived well, but I noticed strange changes in him and his friends… He began to tell me about God, that he went to church, that he repented of his sins… For me it was all very strange, and I could not understand what was happening. I began to fear that my husband and his friends had fallen into some kind of sect. They would constantly tell me about God, pray for me, read the Bible in front of me, and invite me to church… And one day I had a clear understanding that I had to make a choice. It was very difficult, since all my relatives were non-believing, Jewish people, and for them it was a shock… But I understood that I have learned the truth and there is no turning back. At one of the services in the church, I repented. And from that moment on, the Lord uses me and my family for His Glory! We repatriated to Israel, and almost immediately began the ministry of building a new church in our city! My husband and I have four sons, my husband is a church pastor. I am a children’s minister, organizer of various church events, and children’s camps. Every day I thank God for His mercy, love, and salvation!
Now, I serve with the gifts with which the Lord has blessed me! One of my ministries is to serve the elderly, among them there are also people who survived the Holocaust … I also visit a nursing home and help the elderly. And there is a great encouragement from the Lord to continue visiting the elderly. Many of them are completely alone. Most have no relatives, or they just do not visit them. Once a week I visit a nursing home, bring them treats, and if possible, I invite musicians from our church to bless the old people.
There is a war in our country now, and elderly people ask me to tell them about what is happening in Israel and in the world (most of them have problems with their eyesight and hearing). And of course, in the end I console them with the words: “that God is with us, and He cares for us, etc.” I read Bible stories to them from the Bible. I try to devote time to each one individually and they are very happy about it. There are several old people who have started reading the Bible themselves or ask me to read to them. With every visit, the elderly people greet me with tears in their eyes from joy.”
