You’re about to read some encouraging and wise words from a Ukrainian pastor on the frontlines, who received SGA-provided aid from Poland and sees the war as a call from God to serve Him. It’s a hopeful reminder that our Lord continues to build His church.
Please pay close attention to what this courageous man of God has to say about the job of believers here and now: “For Christians, this is a direct call from God to serve Him and people during the current war in Ukraine. People are tired, people are helpless, but many people have lifted their eyes to heaven because of the terrible circumstances. They realize that only God can hear them.”
Here are more updates from our beloved Ukrainian pastor . . .
We are living in a difficult time when our country has been under aggression from Russia for several years now. Many people are suffering from this war, losing their loved ones, homes, jobs, and the human right to peaceful existence. Our church tries to help those who need support and wants to be close to people. For Christians, this is a direct call from God to serve Him and people during the current war in Ukraine. People are tired, people are helpless, but many people have lifted their eyes to heaven because of the terrible circumstances. They realize that only God can hear them. The Holy Scriptures tell us that we must pray and act.
We pray for the protection, recovery, and blessing of Ukraine. We pray that Ukraine would experience the ‘shalom’ that only God gives. When our nation goes through the darkness of war—through death and tears—Christians know how to serve in such circumstances. Many thanks to the Lord and to you, dear brothers and sisters, for your sacrifice, for the blessings that our church has received from you. We received help in the form of food packages, which we distributed to people in need. Your help is very timely and appropriate.
We are sincerely grateful to you and everyone involved in this donation.
Sincerely, a church in a rural area
Alexander, pastor
