Grave violations of religious freedom in Azerbaijan were recently reported by the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF), which also recommends that the U.S. State Department include Azerbaijan in its Special Watch List.
We know that our brothers and sisters in Christ in Azerbaijan often endure physical harm for their faith. But in many villages, their witness is capturing the attention of their Muslim neighbors as they see members of SGA-supported churches taking care of the sick, ministering to orphans and widows, demonstrating God’s love to troubled youth, and providing emergency aid to struggling families.
During these outreach efforts, Azerbaijani Christians are not only addressing physical needs but also initiating Gospel conversations. No matter the cost, they remain faithful in the communities where God has placed them.
Please pray for SGA-supported pastors and churches in Azerbaijan. May God give them courage and wisdom to share truth, and may more Azerbaijani people open their hearts to the Gospel, finding hope in a relationship with Jesus Christ.
