Editor’s Note: The report and images below were provided by an SGA-supported pastor in Ukraine.

As you’ll read below, SGA-supported Pastor Mikhail wonderfully summarizes his congregation’s purpose—and your partnership in these efforts—as the war continues in Ukraine: “Our church is only a small piece in the great chain of goodness stretched from the Christians of America and Europe to the people of Ukraine,” he says. “But we want to believe, and we constantly preach that everyone who receives food aid should become the next good connection to other people.”

Generous friends like you who give to equip SGA-supported pastors like Mikhail and his congregation are part of this “chain of goodness.” Be encouraged by the seeds being sown as you share in the work to help meet physical and spiritual needs.

Greetings in the Name of the Lord!

As an elder of the church in [our] region, I want to express my great gratitude to SGA for your dedication to Christ and serving the people of Ukraine.

. . . And they exceeded our expectations: They gave themselves first of all to the Lord, and then by the will of God also to us (2 Corinthians 8:5).

Dear friends, your ministry to the needs of our ordinary Ukrainians greatly glorifies the Lord, strengthens the faith of the churches, and helps many people to solve the problem of material provision of daily bread.

This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of the Lord’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God. Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, others will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else. And in their prayers for you their hearts will go out to you, because of the surpassing grace God has given you. Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift (2 Corinthians 9:12-15).

Our church is only a small piece in the great chain of goodness stretched from the Christians of America and Europe to the people of Ukraine. But we want to believe, and we constantly preach that everyone who receives food aid should become the next good connection to other people.

John answered . . . Anyone who has two shirts should share with the one who has none, and anyone who has food should do the same (Luke 3:11).

We, as a church, appreciate and use every such opportunity to preach the Gospel to people. And we believe there will be fruit.

It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body (1 Corinthians 15:44).

Church life in a time of war is a challenge for all of us, but our church has found a way to work with people in need. This includes displaced people, retired people, disabled people, bedridden people, large families, and low-income people. Our church has tried to help such people, particularly by providing shelter, food, distributing grocery bags, providing clothing and personal hygiene care, spiritual support, and many other ministries for these people. We pray constantly for the well-being of all the supporters, missions, and the economy of all the countries which are supporting Ukraine in these evil times.

We would like to thank SGA and its partners who donate funds and provide products so that we would be able to help people in need. Without your support, our church would not be able to provide enough support to provide adequate assistance to those in need. Therefore, we are very grateful for your generosity and help in this important ministry.

May our dear Savior fill every need both with us and with you according to the riches of His glory. We invite you to visit us at any time.

With sincere respect and love in Christ Jesus,

Mikhail
