Shelling and bombing, along with rocket and missile attacks, are greatly increasing in one city of Ukraine. Earlier this month, a church that is a main distribution site for SGA-provided food packages and other humanitarian aid was destroyed by direct artillery fire using phosphorous shells. Such weapons are outlawed, and yet they were used. 

Please pray for mercy and peace, and most of all for the Gospel in such times—and for God to guide as we develop new plans to reach this area with humanitarian aid now that the whole of the city is under assault. Here is a brief report from Pastor Dima, who oversees a network of SGA-supported churches . . .

Dear friends and partners!

“Last night . . . the enemy attacked [our] region. As a result of the attack, the building of the local church was burned down. This is the second time that shelling has mercilessly destroyed this House of Prayer. A day earlier, the roof and walls of the church, as well as technical facilities, caught fire due to a hit.

Now the church building has suffered irreparable damage. The enemy attacked [the city] with artillery and multiple rocket launchers, and also used prohibited incendiary munitions against residential areas. A total of 84 attacks were made on 18 frontline villages and towns in our region. We were there [at the church] a few days ago with humanitarian aid. The population and church members who remain need help and prayer support.
