In the worst of times in Ukraine, God’s people are rushing in as they continue to help meet the physical needs of their neighbors and share the hope of the Gospel. Here is a recent report from a network of churches supported by SGA who are bringing emergency supplies — made possible thanks to the generosity of friends like you — to various cities in their region.
May God continue to bless these servants of the Lord as they freely open their hands to people in desperate need in wartime Ukraine (Deuteronomy 15:11, and serve in Jesus’ name . . .
Thank you very much for you ministering to us here in [our] region. And a huge thank you to our brothers and sisters, to all those who provide this financial support. Thanks to this financial aid, we can support the churches of [a Ukrainian] region, as well as refugees and all those who are in the cities where hostilities took place.
In this letter, I want to tell you about my trip to [a Ukrainian city], on the outskirts of which there is still fighting in the western part of the city. And all those who, for whatever reason, could not leave the city, are now living in dangerous and inhumane conditions.
A family from a church in [a different Ukrainian city], bought some groceries at a wholesale base, as well as some vegetables at the market, some medicine, and hit the road.
We were able to get to the place from the east side of the city and serve people in different micro-districts of the city. As there were many people, we had to distribute aid in limited quantities per person.
[Below], it was our last meeting prior to our return. About 50 people are living in the basement of this apartment building. We gave them all the food we had left. People asked us whether we could bring them some vegetables. They said they hadn’t eaten anything like that in a long time.
All those who remained in the city, mostly keep living in the basements of their apartment buildings. There is no electricity, water, or gas in the city. People cook food for themselves just outside, using “stoves” made of bricks.
Many thanks to all those involved in this ministry, who support us and the people who have been affected by the hostilities. May the Lord bless you with everything you also have need of. With love toward you in Christ Jesus, our brothers and sisters from the churches in [our] oblast.
