Where students have been preparing for church ministry is now a refuge in the ongoing Ukraine war. The SGA-supported seminary in the region of the country has become an emergency refuge for thirty people — including students, staff members, children, and elderly — as shelling and shooting rages around them. A nearby airport has been taken several times by the Russian military, and bridges have been destroyed. But God is “a defense for the needy in his distress” (Isaiah 25:4a).

Please continue to pray for safety, relief supplies, and renewed strength for our brothers and sisters in Christ. They ask for prayer for a staff member who is still missing, and another staff member — who is also serving as a chaplain for Ukrainian military members — sends his request: “Pray for my wife and I . . . we are anxious and feel the burden of responsibility at this time to shelter people, as saboteurs walk around at night, shoot, and steal . . . The main thing is everything around us and all roads are blocked!”

Since the electricity was cut off, a generator has provided power. A 50-meter well — previously provided for this SGA-supported seminary through the generosity of friends like you — is now an emergency water source for the seminary and for their neighbors.
