Since 1934, God has used Slavic Gospel Association (SGA) to spread the Good News, plant churches, and make disciples through many challenges. The COVID-19 pandemic is the latest heartbreaking challenge that we face along with the churches we serve across the former Soviet Union. We believe that this crisis represents one of the greatest opportunities for the proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in modern times.
Even as our staff works remotely, we maintain close contact with our partner churches, teaching institutions, and ministries in the former Soviet Union. And in response to the massive humanitarian and spiritual needs as COVID-19 severely impacts Russia and her neighboring countries, SGA has issued a global call to prayer—Christ Over COVID: Much Prayer, Much Power!
SGA is mobilizing Christians around the globe. It is a special time in the world, and God is doing something! We have PRAYED for God’s grace, mercy, and blessing in the face of this disease. AND through your PRAYERS, He has strengthened hundreds of partner churches in the Slavic nation as they deliver the Good News of Jesus Christ to hurting people in their villages and cities. In Jesus’ name, they are helping to provide food, hygiene items, and medicine to those in dire need. In fact, by the grace of God over 1.8 million meals have been distributed so far. We pray for their continued protection as they respond in sharing the Gospel with those who are desperate for Good News.
